So, a year ago I got this site so that I could post comments to other people’s xangas. Well, now I think I’ve finally found a reason to se this blog for my own, somewhat demonic, purposes. My livejournal is my pride and joy. It contains some of my best writings and my most insightful observations and it’s the means by which I express my views on reality as a whole. But, as I’ve been noticing more and more recently, I also need a medium by which I can express my day to day attitudes and situations. I’m going to keep my livejournal pure and uncorrupted, but this Xanga will go to work as my personal rambling diary.

Now that all of that is out of the way, I’ll write my first entry. This year’s marching show is millions of times better than last years. The music is better, we sound better, the drill is wonderful, and the band isn’t bad either. I’ve really taking a liking to nearly every aspect of my marching band endeavor this semester, as well as the great section that I was warranted to look over and squad lead. Drum majors are both great too. I couldn’t have asked for better arm wavers than those two.

This semester I’ve been working on a few specific areas of music in an attempt to hone my skills. I’ve put the trombone aside to concentrate on my euphonium and my voice, picking up trumpet and tuba in brass class. What I really want to start is composing. I sit in my music theory classes and I’m amazed how easily it comes to me. I don’t have to ask questions and I’m never confused by it. One explanation and I understand the concept. Not only that, but I’ve even been looking forward to learning new chords. That’s really why I want to write music, so that I can create the moods and sensations that I want with the new tools offered to me in my theory class.

There’s my first post.
